A note from Erica Sara:
"I am fortunate. I wake up every morning with a roof over my head, I am happy & healthy, & I love what I do. And although I know that I am I am not saving the world by making my jewelry, I like to think that what I do makes people happy and we could all use a little more happy in this world. I spend my days talking to customers and designing pieces that are special to them. Whether to celebrate their achievements or to voice their strength & courage through personal mantras, I am honored to be a small part of their lives.
Since I started my business, many of my customers' stories have touched me. A leukemia survivor who ignored the doctors who told her she shouldn't run... and completed her first marathon. Sisters who lost their mother after a long battle with breast cancer. A soldier's necklace for his daughter, with a beautiful engraving on the back, before leaving to Afghanistan.
The other day, someone asked me if I would be designing anything special for Breast Cancer Awareness month and it got me thinking. Yes, I wanted to design something for Breast Cancer awareness, but really for awareness in general. As the daughter of two cancer survivor, the grandaughter of holocaust survivors, and a friend to many impacted by AIDS, by Autism, and by so much more, why not find a way to support all of these causes and more.
I've added this Philanthropy section to my website with opportunities to support some pretty special charities & foundations. Hopefully this is just the beginning and this list will continue to grow & perhaps inspire. Thanks in advance for your support."
Designed with a sense of social responsibility & deep intention in mind, customize your donation by selecting from a list of charities upon purchasing these charms. Purchased alone, 20% of net proceeds from the charm's sale is donated to the charity you choose. Upon adding to a necklace, an additional 10% of net proceeds from the necklace is donated. LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY TEAM IN TRAINING
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS's) roots stretch back to 1949, when the de Villiers family experienced the devastation of leukemia with the death of their 16-year-old son, Robert Roesler de Villiers. Family members and friends declared war on the disease by creating The Robert Roesler de Villiers Foundation, funding research to find a cure. The foundation later became The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Their mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Team In Training (TNT) began in 1988, when Bruce Cleland of Rye, NY formed a team that raised funds and trained to run the New York City Marathon in honor of Cleland's daughter Georgia, a leukemia survivor. TNT has trained over a half a million runners, walkers, triathletes, cyclists and hikers and raised over $1.2 billion to fund lifesaving research.

CANCER DON'T CARE: LLS WOMAN OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE LORA VACCARO
"On February 18, 2014, my father, Roger, lost his battle to Multiple Myeolma. He was gone six months after his diagnosis, despite immediate and aggressive treatment. He was a staunchly private person. He never spoke about his cancer to anyone but immediate family and one or two lifelong friends. Being public about my father's cancer feels somewhat like a betrayal; but I cannot be silent about how devastating it was to helplessly watch a loved one die from a horrible disease such as this."- LORA
From March 27 - June 5, Lora is rising to the challenge to raise as much money as possible to fund critical research that will help find a cure for cancer. This is for her dad, for your fathers, mothers, siblings, loved ones, friends, mentors, neighbors...possibly even you.
